The most prestigious Awards for the licensed, catering, tourism and hospitality industry in Northern Ireland.
Following the phenomenal success of the Inaugural Awards last year, the Licensed & Catering News Awards are back for 2010, with a new headline sponsor on board.
The Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News Awards seek to uncover the shining stars of the Northern Ireland licensed trade – those businesses and individuals that continue to strive for excellence, and make our hospitality industry one of which we can all be extremely proud.
The most prestigious Awards for the licensed, catering, tourism and hospitality industry, the Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News Awards remain the only comprehensive awards for Northern Ireland’s hospitality industry.
Independently judged by industry watchdog Spotcheck NI, the LCN Awards will continue to help raise industry standards, rewarding innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and professionalism across all sectors.
Championing the industry for 70 years, Licensed & Catering News has embarked on its search for the stand out stars of the industry in 2010. Entries have been flooding in since the launch of the 2010 Awards in March. Over 350 entries were received for the LCN Awards in 2009, and with the industry backing the Awards once again, it is anticipated that over 450 entries will be submitted for the LCN Awards 2010.
The entry process is quick and easy and better still, it’s FREE. To enter the LCN Awards 2010, complete and return the entry form in the centre of LCN magazine, or enter online on the dedicated Awards website at www.lcnawards.com Deadline for entries is Wednesday 30th June 2010.
Sparing a few minutes of your time could result in your business taking centre stage at the Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News Awards 2010; boosting your business profile, increasing staff morale, and most importantly, recognising your unwavering commitment to excellence.
The Molson Coors Licensed & Catering News Awards 2010 will take place on Friday 8th October 2010 at the Ramada Hotel Belfast.

A few words from some of last year’s winners:
“We were absolutely delighted to be named ‘Bar of the Year’ at the Inaugural Licensed & Catering News Awards, and it was an honour to be shortlisted as a finalist for two further Awards. Our sincere congratulations go to the whole team, on what was a superb evening for the licensed trade. We have been to several Awards ceremonies and this was by far the best; everything from the food through to the production was outstanding,”
Thomas Doherty, manager, Mary’s Bar, Magherafelt, winner of Bar of the Year 2009.
“Thanks to all of the team at Licensed & Catering News. We are absolutely over the moon to have been named Hotel of the Year (over 75 rooms)! Congratulations and well done on an excellent evening. Here’s to next year!”
Sorcha Brady, sales & marketing manager, La Mon Hotel & Country Club, Castlereagh, Belfast, winner of Hotel of the Year (over 75 Rooms) 2009.
“The Necarne Arms has been the talk of Fermanagh since the LCN Awards last year. It was a great honour to win and the Country Pub of the Year Award and it has attracted a lot of new custom to the bar…It gave us a real sense of achievement in what we’re doing, which in these difficult times was a very welcome boost indeed,”
Ian Coalter, Necarne Arms, Irvinestown, Co. Fermanagh, winner of Country Pub of the Year 2009.
“Winning the Food Pub of the Year Award at the LCN Awards has given us a new lease of life and sense of achievement; so we now want to keep pushing that in the future and see where this new found energy takes us,”
Andrew Graham, The Hillside Bar and Restaurant, Hillsborough, Co. Down, winner of Food Pub of the Year 2009.
Entries are now closed for the Molson Coors Licensed and Catering News Awards 2010.
We’ve been inundated with entries across all 17 award categories and the judges have been overwhelmed by the calibre of applicants this year.
Thank you to everybody who has entered and we look forward to seeing the finalists at the gala dinner in Belfast’s Ramada Hotel on Friday, October 8th, 2010.
